I grew up in a small town, but the drama didn't really bother me since I'm a shut-in. I moved out of state for college but it's still technically my permanent residence.

I love small towns. There is no 'drama'. It is a small community that does everything a little smaller than a big city. People tend to know more of their neighbors and the schools are actually community centers. Fire departments are all volunteer around here. It is is only half an hour from several major cities with colleges, hospitals, museums, big ticket entertainment, etc... We don't lack anything and have a quieter, safer lifestyle.

i live in a very small town, moved here from a bigger town (still country though) and i'm a little left wing, so mostly i'm the source of the drama. the old biddies at the supermarket gossiping bout my new hair colour (light blonde to brunette with purple shades) or the fact that i dont attend church... but i'm getting used to it

Funny thing, I've been in small towns and big towns, I am the drama wherever I go.

The smallest town I lived in was Gainesville, Florida. It's a college town with a population of 100k-200k...not sure if ya'll qualify that as small. Effectively it was a town of 40k since I only really interacted with classmates. Small enough to recognize the people you see on the bus and in the clubs Anyways, not too much drama that I can remember.

I grew up in a small town. Sure, it was the biggest town in the area, and was technically a city, but it was very small comparatively. Drama was never a problem for me. I just avoided it, which isn't hard to do at all. I did move away, probably prematurely, but I plan to return.

Small town, there is one 15 minutes away. I live in the middle of nowhere with my aunts and uncles and once upon a time my gramparents. The only drama we have are with my uncle and aunt who I really could care less if they moved. I've grown up here, my parents have grown up here, and my gramparents have grown up here. Oh there was drama at the church down the road about my best friend because she married a guy 4 months after first starting to date him, so everybody thought she was pregnant. I love this place!

i live in about the smallest town in my area and i hate it. all that goes on around here is NOTHING! we don't even have a stop light. i'm surprised we even have a Sonic. rumors are always spread in this town. you could tell someone you have the flu and the last person who hears it thinks your cousin has learned kung fu. i plan to move away as soon as i can.

I grew up in a small town, and am still living there, waiting to graduate high school. the original plan was to book it the fuck out of here right after that, but that was before I got with my guy, and now I'm not sure what I'm going to do. It depends a lot on him now, but neither of us want to stay around here long term. at all. And to answer how you deal with the drama, you just take it, knowing that someday you won't have to be there. *shrug*

uh huh. keep tellin' yourself that blondetink. X)

This is such a good question! Many forms of drama in a small town. I drive out of the town I live in to towns nearby that I know none of the busybodies to shop. I stay out of organizations and do NOT work in the town I live in!!! I read inspirational passages daily.

If you run away from problems, you just end up with a different set of problems somewhere else. Try and understand it first, then move if you want to.

Pilot, North Carolina. We had two gas stations and the street I lived on was named after the family that took up most of the road. Yes.. a lot of small town gossip but I miss that place still. Carlise Road.. I miss it
