After looking through all the menus and trying random things, I finally discovered how to do it. You copy and paste the object, then select it and go Modify --> Duplicate symbol...

I want to copy movieclip including its contents i.e. if the movieclip contains graphics, text or image then while copied or any event occur, whole thing should get copied, and plz the whole procedure should be in as2 or as3 not physically duplicating the movieclip on stage.
