Well I'm not a lawyer I'm a pirate, but It was my understanding that if the violation was regarding your driving it's on you i.e Speeding reckless driving improperly secured load, etc. If it's regarding your vehicle; bad signal lights, improper or expired registration, not in proper operating condition, not roadworthy, etc. it's supposed to be on the owner of said vehicle assuming your company owns it? It's supposed to then fall on the owner, and I can't see how a court could hold you responsible. If you are forced to go to court over this I'd fight it and then demand to be reimbursed for lost wages(Time in court.etc.)

Indeed, as the pirate said, this needs porfessional legal counsel to address it. However, if the court is coming after you, it's your life and license that will be on the line. I'd suggest that you pay the citation and dispute the responsibility for it when it's convenient, but you should at least get a free consultation from a specialty lawyer first.

what is the citation for? companies are good for doing this. if it is an equipment violation the 1st words the company will say are "you should've caught it on your pretrip inspection."my advise is consult "OOIDA" @1-800-444-5791...

First of all find a new company. If they won't pay they aren't worth staying with.
