A great point well made, What more is there to say ?

because they're the parents~~~~ Clearly they know what's best~~~ How dare you question my parenting !!1one? Yeah, I can't think of a non-sarcastic answer. But I'm pretty sure it's still accurate. They make it easy! It says T for Teen, it says M for Mature, it says lifelike violence, it says drug use, strong language... Any parent who blames the video games their kids were playing needs to have the kids taken away. You bought the damn games, lady. And I know if I bought a violent game with my own money, I'd have had it confiscated by the time I got through the opening cutscene.

people don;t like responsibility.

im not blaming any one person im blaming the parents and politicians that put it on things like games for an easy answer, instead of taking responsiblity. its not the games industry that should raise their kids; all parents need to get more invovled in their kids life no matter what age. get them into after school stuff, talk to them, play with them. sometimes u have to let them make their own mistakes, but keep a closer watch and prevent them from going down the wrong path because u r their guide. dont say its not that easy..when it is. it all starts with one question: what did u do at school or how was ur day or what are u going to do to day. so instead of blaming others look in the mirror thats who u should blame. again im not blaming any one person. if u do get closely invovled in ur kids life instead of blaming others, i thank u.

very good point. and i think the answer is linked to todays blame cultur, its easier to blame a video game than it is to take a meaningful look at your parenting techniques.

Actually, they've been blaming video games for a good chunk of my life, though much moreso with the advent of FPS games. Before that it was hair bands and metal. Before that it was drugs and free love. Before that it was Communism. Before that it was the Devil. We just can't handle that our kids are the product of our society and without a good guide, they will assume that all of the messed up things in our current world are not only acceptable but right.
