Anime is great! The cartoons they have on now a days through cable are boring and not worth watching or having our children watch. It's become too violent. Even though the majority of japanese anime is not on our television networks, it's available online for people to enjoy. There are a variety of anime out there from romance to horror and action packed adventure. It's just another world. Too each their own opinion on the matter. If one has not experienced it, then how are they to say that it sucks?

uhh if theres no manga anime would never we computerized go manga is better than anime and the dont make full animes that completes the manga so youll be in the middle of sumthing then it stoped cuz the producers are fcking lazy ass.

I would say anime is growing in popularity. Alot more is being dubbed and subbed, especially in America. Here in the UK, it's slowly building, but I still need to buy most of my anime from the USA.

yeah anime is becoming very popular now a days but i remember just last yr there was only me and one of my friends who liked anime and then all of a sudden everybody wanted to be different so now they watch anime its so dum they say they no it all but they dont its kinda sad up here

You've been sleeping for at least 10 years. If you speak of the popularity in the west then that started back with the beginnings of the internet. I will not even explain how ridiculous it is to ask whether 100 million people(the majority of the population of japan) liking something is a symbol of popularity. To be fair 'popular' is also a relative term; specifics are needed to be truely analyzed. I say this because I live in Japan; and in turn your question would be mute. I would rather not prejudge, based on a Q&A forum, where you might live so I will simply say that the estimated worldwide fanship for Anime/Manga (in some form) is over 1billion according to certain research, and leave it at that.

Meh, it's certainly gaining momentum but things aren't like they were in the early 2000's when Otakon had to erect an attendance cap, Geneon still existed, etc
