I did and I would recommend it - it doesn't take long to make friends and then you have more of them than if you had stayed put.

To me it really depends on the particular job, the location of the transfer, and the growth opportunity involved with the job more than the immediate pay increase.

are you being offered all of that by just word-of-mouth? i suggest you get a contract.if not you have no recourse if they let you go shortly thereafter.

No. I have been with my company 26 years. I have less than 6 years to work until I can retire.

If the pay allowed me to live where I was required to and I ended up with more spending money per check then sure. I have moved so much I dont really have a home town. I go where and when needed.

No, I just relocated 6 months ago and don't want to do it again anytime soon. Additionally, my husband would also have to be able to get a job at least as good as the one he has now.
