  • Aging is a disease as is any other disease. There is a cause for aging. Science has already identified what causes aging. Science has even found a substance that can stop one of the causes of aging but has yet to find a way to deliver this "fountain of youth" drug to every cell in our bodies. Current predictions for a cure for aging is 20 years. It is possible to achieve immortality at least from a standpoint of aging.will it come in time for me to benifit from it? I don't believe so and even if it did it would probably be so expensive so as only the richest people in the world would be able to afford it. But I do believe that it will come to pass perhaps in fifty to one hundred years.
  • Some people seek immortality because they assume it will be possible. Others just want to make life a little longer. Even if it seems impossible or if every theory at the moment says that it is impossible, it is an interesting field of research. And every theory could be false. • Immortality (or eternal life) is the concept of living in physical or spiritual form for an infinite length of time. What form an unending or indefinitely-long human life would take, or whether the soul, should such a thing exist, possesses immortality, has been the subject of much speculation, fantasy, and debate, as well as a fundamental point of focus in many faiths and religions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immortality Ancient Europeans wrote about Ages of Man. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_Man There are also many other references to various types of world ages or Ages of Man in Hopi (worlds), Mayan (suns) and other cultures of antiquity. Giorgio de Santillana, the former professsor of the history of science, mentions approximately thirty ancient cultures that believed in the concept of a series of ages and the rise and fall of history, with alternating Dark and Golden Ages. More details of these Ages are available in the Yuga concept of the Hindus. The present age is known as Kali Yuga (age of darkness). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuga http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satya_Yuga http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/iml/iml11.htm http://www.crystallotus.com/Lemuria/04bbTheAges.htm http://homepage.mac.com/cparada/GML/AgesOfWorld.html The Hinduism believes that some Rishis have become immortal. "Vishwamitra is the highest point of spiritual realization, even the very gods are his inferior. He is also regarded as being not just Chiranjeevi (immortal) but eternal, outside the cycle of cosmic dissolution and creation." http://www.indiayogi.com/content/indsaints/vishwamitra.asp Rishi Markandeya, the originator of my lineage, is also said to be immortal. http://www.search.com/search?q=immortal+Markandeya

  • Hinduism says that immortality is possible. The Sanskrit word Chiranjeevi means immortal person. http://personalpages.tds.net/~theseeker/Hinduism.htm http://www.saranam.com/guide/?n=Hindu.HinduGodsAmpGoddesses God is Chiranjeevi: He is permanent, eternal, perpetual, indestructible, immutable and imperishable. God is past, present and future. He is unchanging amidst the changing phenomena. http://hinduism.about.com/od/basics/a/whoisgod.htm The progenitor of my caste Rishi Markandeya is said to be a Chiranjeevi. Since no human can become Almighty, the longest duration a human can live is given as 7 days of Brahma - about 28 billion years. “After wandering for some time here and there, over mountains and across plains, Hemamali eventually came upon the vast expanse of the Himalayan mountain ranges. There he had the wonderful good fortune to come in contact with the great saintly soul Markandeya Rishi, the best of ascetics, whose duration of life it is said, extends to seven of the days of Brahma." http://www.salagram.net/ekadasi-15.htm Such a state is obtained through highest practices of asceticism called Tapas. It is no wonder that some persons try for that extremely rare possibility.
