  • Did you know that most models make so little money they have to have a second job to make a living.
  • sure, are you ready for starving yourself, doing heroin and being burned out by the age of 25 then yes.
  • Yes you do. So if you want to go for modelling you can give a try. Everybody can't be a model, you need a good height, figure, etc. Just the face wont' help.
  • Sorry, it's true, technically anyone can be a model - if you really want a decent answer you need to give more information. What type of model do you want to be? Are you talking catwalk? Glamour? Catalogue? There are a lot of different types of modelling and they all require different attributes, not all of them physical. Your height, measurements and personality would all come into it as well as whether you have the current popular "look" - which isn't always what you might think of as conventionally attractive. Just being pretty isn't really where it's at, there are a lot of pretty girls who get in front of a camera and just stand there and no photographer can do them justice - then there are a lot of average looking girls who get in front of a camera and come to life and look gorgeous (I once saw the model Erin O'Connor in real life - she looks stunning when you see her modelling, but off duty looks quite ordinary) If you're really serious about it my best suggestion is that you do a test shoot. If you're interested mainly in fashion modelling the best way is probably to get a friend to do a few snapshots (one close up of your face and a few full length ones in various well-fitted clothes that show off the shape of your body- tight jeans and fitted t-shirt are fine.) and take them along to an agency (google!) or write to one of the catalogues. If you're more into the idea of glamour, or aren't sure what type of modelling would suit you, find a local professional photographer who'll do a shoot with you - most of the good ones have websites, or you can use some of the model sites www.purestorm.com, or www.modelmayhem.net to find one. alternatively if you have a college near-by with a photography department you may be able to find a trainee to help you out. Most photographers will work on a "Prints For Time" basis (sometimes called TFP or PFT) where neither of you pays the other but you both get to keep copies of the photographs for your own use- if they think you have potential - though some of the more in demand photographers will charge for beginners - don't be afraid to pay a small amount if it means getting some really good photos. Once you've got these - get your portfolio uploaded n every model site you can find and get yourself out there - it may take a while before you earn any money at all, and it's likely you will never actually make a full-time living out of it - but if you're good in front of the camera you should be able to make a reasonable second income for youraelf and have a bit of fun and some nice pictures of yourself to boot.
  • Yah anyone can be a professional model, but most models aren't smart enough to work with professionals. Most models dont understand the importance of working with a professional photographer & having a professional portfolio to show designers. rorygraphics.com/vibes/index.html
