  • Ahemm...I will bear that in mind, mr., next time I feel a compulsion to "lecture you"...(smile)
  • I just answer the question , I don't preach
  • Believe it or not, there's all sorts of people out there with all sorts of opinions, and asking a question invites them to answer. If you don't want the answer then don't ask the question. If you do want an answer then be prepared to sift through the responses to find the one you like. Pretty simple, isn't it?
  • When I ask a question I really want to know what people think, unedited...there is no point in asking a question to which you don't want an honest reply..if, in that reply, you perceive some "moralizing" or "lecturing", can't you just ignore it if you don't want to hear it? You might try adding an addendum to all your questions..."no moralizing or lecturing, please"..see if that works for you.
  • Maybe they know that you are not the only one who might want to ask the same question and that there are others interested in the subject who might want a different point of view than the one you are interested in hearing. When you put something on the internet, you lose control of it and cannot complain if responses are not to your liking. --- BTW, did your wife ever use her toy? That was some comment thread and very enlightening about your character.
  • Yes. I think you raise a very fair point but I guess the bottom line is that we all have the right to ask and answer questions as we see fit. Oftentimes, when I get an answer like that, I post a simple "thanks for your answer" and move on. Oops, hope that wasn't a lecture!;)
  • Isn't it a touch judgemental to suggest individuals are putting on a 'goody goody' act? Perhaps your questions might be of such a nature as to invite moral opinion and people are providing just that?
  • some people simply have more to say, i always appreciate people answering my questions whether or not i agree with them or not.
  • Shouldn't everyone answer all question from the bottom of their hearts? Or from within the limits of their knowledge or experience? If anyone here is answering questions for the express purpose of "impressing" or "lecturing" someone else, I'd say that they're only fooling themselves, because after all no one here knows who the hell you are anyway.
  • I agree. I don't care to be lectured regarding my questions or my answers. That's what makes the unsubscribe button a beautiful thing.
