Iam trying to set up xbox live on my xbox360. i wired my xbox360 to my laptop for connection but i apparently need to put in my gateway number...how do i find out what the number is?

It is much easier if you either run it from a desktop, or using a wireless adapter. It is to slow to play on live normally going from consol to laptop to wireless network then on.

Directly connect it to the router or modem, it’s the quickest and most reliable way.

This is the answer to your question! Find command prompt in your start menu. Click it. type in "ipconfig" without the quotes. You will see something saying default gateway. The number next to it is your gateway number. Hope this helps!

Just copying what the other guy said but Go to Start, Run When that screen comes up just type cmd then press ENTER Then type ipconfig Then there you go
