When someone says, "Go fly a kite." they're saying, "Please go do something else. Leave me alone."

Ummmmm.... Here are couple clean ones: "Take a long walk off a short pier." "Noted." The last one was a rather polite way of saying "I heard what you said and I understand it" but the underlying meaning in the nuclear Navy was "But I'm blowing you off anyway". Really p*sses officers off when a Chief tells them "Noted". I have two others which are unique to me and VERY offensive. In fact, they are so unique to me that my boss knows if anyone ever complains to him about one of his engineers using these phrases on them, he will know exactly which engineer they are talking about without being told: "Suck the heat out of my *ss." and "Lick the salt of the back of my b*lls." What can I say? I was a sailor for 20 years...us retired Chiefs have quite an extensive vocabulary.
