Since purchasing my computer I have not watched television at all.

i dont think it really matters. as long as theres youtube (which, has every telivison show/movie almost ever even though it is illegal) we will always kinda have a telivision. also, that could be a possible reason why it is happening.

I no I definitely watch less TV than before I had a computer. But I still love curling up and relaxing on the couch watching TV, and watching TV in bed before I go to sleep.

Perhaps it will be used less, but the majority of the people who watch TV, elderly and children, will still continue to watch it.

I do not watch as much TV as I did as a child. People use TV as an escape tool, the internet has come and taken the place of that. I can escape online and the best part is I can multitask. With TV you have to sit through commercials, it's hard to do more than one thing while you're watching a show, and you can't pause it (most of the time if you're not using tivo or dvr). With the internet I can watch what shows I want, at the same time I can IM, I can get work done (I work online) and I can read the news, research from multiple sites instead of just taking one channels view on a subject, and research people from documentaries etc. If I miss something, or think I heard it wrong, I can easily rewind. What ever info I pick up from a show I can easily search for it online and find more documentation to back it up or dispute it. It's much more convenient. I still have my favorite shows on DVD though, but I watch them on my TV from my computer, so I can still multitask and pause/rewind as I need to. ETA- I think our brains need to be doing multiple things- at least mine does! I can get caught up in a movie but I really need breaks during it if I don't want my brain to hurt. That could be just me though.

I would agree that this could be the trend. One day TV would lose its attraction.

Sounds plauible, but I do both at the same time. Often I am talking on the phone to someone at the same time too.
