I no longer doubt my own validity and value as a human being anymore... I suppose that's a certain kind of "mastery", given that it took many years of working on that problem to resolve it. That doesn't mean I think I'm perfect or flawless, it means that I recognize an absolute basis for my own wholeness which doesn't depend on the ups and downs of daily life, my emotional state, the mistakes I make, or my own shortcomings. This "absolute basis" is an unconditional recognition that BEING is prior to IDENTITY. That is... life is already whole and complete, and I get to partake of that wholeness simply by existing. With that as a foundation, what difference does it make that I have shortcomings, or judgments about myself, or limited views of my own identity? None, all of that is irrelevant. The absolute basis for being transcends all things which might define "me" as an individual.
