You r young, just go to court respect the judge, make sure he know all the facts such as it took place before school. That way depending on your previous driving record it could be reduced to careless driving or maybe community service, which wouldnt effect your insurance as much. If you get a good judge you may get off lucky, everyone was teens at one time.

You may lose your license since it is a provisional license at 16, which means you have to meet certain "provisions" to keep the license. Even if you keep the license, your insurance will go up dramtically.

Yeah thats a big ticket and your insurance will most likely go up a lot.

Live and learn, right? Your insurance will almost definitely go up depending on who you have. Your best bet is to request a court date (if you don't already have one) so you can explain to the judge you know what you did was reckless but it was in a closed parking lot and you've learned your lesson. He or she may be able to reduce the ticket, thereby mitigating the damage. Good luck and drive safely.

It all depends on your previous traffic record. If this is your first offense, you may qualify for the four hours of defensive driving class. once you complete the four hours successfully, your citation will be dismissed as though it never happened. Your insurance company will not be notified, if you attend the class and finish it. If you pay your fine, it will give your drivers license two marks and your insurance will most likely double. If you qualify, do the four hours of defensive driving. The classes may range in price, but whatever the cost, its worth it to save your license and your future auto insurance.

One thing that might be handy to know. If you go to court before a judge, not plead guilty. PLead no contest. Then your fine or sentencing or what4ever will be up to the judge more than likely. If you plead guilty he/she may have to fine you a certain way. Remember, "No Contest"

Go to a defensive driving class BEFORE court. It will look like you are taking responsablity for your actions, and possibly get in less trouble One thing to remember is 'Ignorance is no excuse of the law' meaning even if you didn't know it was wrong, it still is, and there is no excuse, you still get in trouble As far as insurance yes it will go up, or they might possibly even drop you due to your age. A wreckless driving ticket at 16, is pretty serious. Your parents insurance jumped up when you turned 16 anyways because of age, with that ticket(you can even go to jail for that one so you got lucky), you may loose your license or insurance.

Heck yes !! Try and get the charge reduced. Reckless driving is up there with DUI. Of course your rates will go up, you will lose any good driver discounts.
