"Hell bent for leather" is a phrase that has been around long before Judas Priest was. It basically means to go after something with a singlemindedness regardless of obstacles or consequences. I wouldn't have associated it with the group because I don't listen to them..guess I am one of the "slow" ones.

- Nah. I don't normally listen to them, I was just out of ideas for artists to listen to. And I'm pretty slow myself. I understand the original meaning, but the song makes me think of the lead singer (whose name I don't know).

Yeah. I am. I just saw a Judas Priest reunion DVD of them in concert. I hadn't realized before how good they are. I'm hell bent...hell bent for leatha.
