  • Run. o.o
  • Call a plumber, It sounds like you have a rather yucky situation.
  • call a plumber!!
  • It's going to have to get "snaked". That used to happen to us all the time because our daughters liked to throw their pacifiers in the toilet and they would get stuck.
  • We have that problem ever since we changed to "low-flow" toilets. The way to handle it is to flush, then put the plumger in, and push it up and down to push/pull the water in the pipe. Do the up/down fairly gently to avoid spilling the nasty stuff, but be firm, to maintain the sucking action (sorry to use such ugly words). Keep in mind that this problem is very mild compared to what could happen, and thank your lucky stars it didn't back up into the bathtub, and on the floor. My insurance covered a plumber to fix our problem, and, thank goodness, paid for a specialist cleaning service to sanitize the whole bathroom.
  • I'd keep going with the plunger, and pay attention to your technique, they do work eventually. Make sure you have a good seal, and get a good hard & long stroke. A few of those is better than a lot of weak wiggling. You may have to get a pitcher and remove some of the excess liquid. Failing that, I'd use lye -- again, remove as much liquid as possible. Lye does not eat pipes. Beware of hydrochloric acid, which does eat metal pipes. A snake is a good idea too.
  • There are clearing chemicals which you can buy which digest normal, "human" blockages. They won't help if it is something dropped down.
  • time to call the plumber. your pipes might be too small. or you may need a new toilet.
