I heard it is dangerous to apply for plastics online. at the sites with application forms they say it is the safest way... So I can't say whether it is OK or not. I applied for a credit card at www.credit-land.com: the site looked informative and I thought it is rather safe. I received the card, had no problems.

I've applied online once for a credit card. I was rejected because the credit card company "needed more information." I thought that was nuts, so I didn't bother with it any further. My guess is that they were a bit cautious because I'm self-employed. Go figure. I don't need another card, but wanted that one because it didn't have a foreign currency transaction fee. (I was hoping to travel abroad, but I've since changed my mind on that. I'll do it some day.) My suggestion to those applying online for credit cards would be to do so from the bank's own website. You can easily compare offers online and then open a new browser and apply.
