Sadly it's not always what you know, it's who you know and favoritism will get you far.
I personally think you should try and talk it out. Dont be afraid to talk your way to the top. Know what you're capable of and don't be afraid to demonstrate it and emphasize why you should be advancing up the corporate ladder.
Don't be bitter, use it as motivation to work even harder showcasing your skills to an even greater level..
Good luck to you.
Yes, if you're a Christian, then pray to God that your hardwork & efforts will not go unnoticed.
God always makes things right. He may not work miracles in one minute, but in due time, God will promote you.
If, on the other hand, you're NOT a Christian, and don't want to accept Jesus as your Saviour, then you can accept the fact that your hardwork isn't being noticed, quit, and find another job--only to find yourself in the exact situation, yet again, or you can do the best you can and ignore the politics and realize that in due time, your hardwork will be noticed.
Bottom line: Either ignore it and keep doing your best, or find another job.
These are really your only 2 options.
Good luck with your career & it's unfortunate that many times; especially, in the work world, politics and NOT work performance are taken into account.
Trust in divine order and show up to do your job as detailed. Dont take things personal; this is what you get paid to do. Smile at who you have to and ask the questions that you know will get you the right attention. Point out the obvious to make yourself look good but someone else look bad. Be involed with the things you can and above all else forget about work when you leave. This can be the hardest part but you don't get paid to be at home, so leave your thinking cap at the door on your way out.
