Do girls LOVE when guys write them poems, or do they think them 'delicate'?

I don't want them to write poems honestly, lol. I don't know why, I just don't. Maybe because it makes them seem girly?

I think it is very romantic when they put their heart into a poem....it's a one of a kind and so special.

Well I have a friend that writes poems (I never could) he normally gets attention with his poems, then asks for a date. Then again he is very good.

This is based on each individual girl, I have felt sometimes when I write letters to my girlfriend if she thought of me as "delicate". That has caused me to ask a few times what she things of me lol but I think my motorcycle and other thing counter balance it.

I like it.Mostly becuase it just gives me a warm tingly feeling and shows me they like me back and put effort into letting me know. However sometimes i find it hard not to luagh at some of the poems guys write. This one guy said in a poem, " you are my angel, my godess, my light." lmao now that. is a nono

I think it depends on the woman. I am far from "delicate". I train horses and work ranches for a living in Montana. I also have a certain flair for writing. My current girlfriend just melts when I write her a poem. I have had girlfriends though that just didn't seem the type to like that stuff so I never wrote them any.

My hubby's written me two songs since we've been together... and there's nothing terribly delicate about playing my song in between "Dead Maggot Spitting Head" and "Tortured By Visions" but it still gives me the warmfuzzies and the teary-eyedness. ^_^

I don't think writing poetry makes a guy "delicate" -- that has nothing to do with it. I love it if the poetry is good.

Girls prefer poems when they are immatured. When they matured, they are more practical, though they may just wow a short while when they see your love poems..but if they were to find out you made this your vocation...they would think twice about your financial security or inevitably your marriageability...So, write a poem (if you really need) once in a very long while, but not too often...the best is to show her through your deeds than words... i think a poem would be very cool. a woman likes to know that her man is strong and tough, but she also likes to know that she can bring out his romantic side, that she is desired, and that she can make him feel things no one else can.

No-one ever wrote me a poem - but I'm sure if they did I'd be delighted. It's lovely to think that you inspire someone to be creative, and that they went to all that effort for you. After all - anyone can buy flowers, but poems take time. Although if poetry isn't your talent, painting a picture, composing a song or even making dinner are all equally thoughtful.

Besides, gals who really feel poems are rare...Most gals would be bogged down by issues of security and fear in their entire lives..Guys, write if you want...but don't make it your vocation and only testament of love...afterall, its what you do that secures them..and not words of despair...Alpha Male

depends. I mean i like to write, thats my thing. I like to keep it my thing. He can be good at something else...like making money and being smart...But yes poems are really romantic and it doesnt matter how many times you say I love you a girl still likes to hear it...:)

John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote wonderful words. I dont consider them 'delicate'. it is sexy when a guy writes something for a woman.
