Help answer this question below.
Sometimes they guess my ethnicity incorrectly.
My skin is pale but the rest of me screams "Rromani" ("Gyspy"). The ones that do not guess my ethnicity correctly just guess me as Native American, or Hispanic, or the nebulous "Mediterranean." Most of the members of my Clan kind of have a NA look despite having NO genetic link to NA's.
Edit: I see that the original question I answered was merged. Now to answer the rest of THIS question:
No, I do not get upset.
Most people always ask if I'm Chinese or Japanese, not knowing that I'm BOTH Chinese and Japanese, ethnically. So most of the time they're 50 percent correct. Lol.
Yep. I often am mistaken for middle eastern or mexican.
Somebody once assumed my identity as Canadian. I said "I ain't no Canuck. You got that, eh?" That set that straight.
Yep. I am Caucasian and I have been mistaken for being REALLY Caucasion.
People usually mistake me for a human...weirdos!:p
no.
im whitey..white...white..
lol
soo.. nope
Several times, yes. When I had a Frito Bandito mustache people thought I was Mexican. Once I was mistaken for Iranian.
A few time. I donated blood today and one of the questions I was asked was if I was of Latin American descent.
i am of german/russian background and since i have red hair, they always thought irish
if they talk to me black if they see me they cant guess specifically just caucasion
Yes, all the time. In France I was called everything from Russian to German to Bulgarian, but never English which I actually am.
When i was younger people would ask me if i was greek or american. Now they always get it spot on for some reason.
No one has ever made this mistake but if they did I would not think much of it and no it would never upset me.
No but my daughter has & yes it's bothered me because I'm English & her dads Polish & part Italian but more than one person has said she looks like she has black blood in her. It made me feel like they were accusing me of sleeping around which I never had. If I slept with a black man & had a baby then it wouldn't bother me but I was always faithful
other than human race????
peolpe often think im scottish becoz i have dark blonde hair(looks ginge) and i somtimes have a speech imped that pops up, but defenatly when im drunk
In the summer especially abroad my hair goes white blonde and I go really tanned so people presume I'm Swedish =)
i have been mistaken for an indian, when i was younger i used to go REAL dark brown now i am pasty white our dodgy climated has damaged my skin
I am half hispanic, but people ask me if I am Greek or Native American sometimes.
No. It's pretty obvious that I am white. I have been called "southern" a few times. That's not exactly right, though. I am Cajun.
Yes I was called Vietnamese once. I'm Italian.
No. 6'4", blond hair, blue eyes. If that doesn't scream German...nothing does.
Yup. I've been English, Irish, American, South African, Welsh (Don't know where that came from) and New Zealander along with an interesting stint where an old acquaintance was convinced that I was, indeed, Russian. It took months to convince him that I was not. Sort of started when I faked a Russian accent as a joke... and grew from there. I guess first impressions do last.
All the time !! I guess people assume Im of hispanic descent because of my name ( Monica ) . Im Japawelsh though
With my coloring, nope. I am german and some people guess Scandinavian. But, that is not a different ethnicity.
Good question. No. Well actually one time someone thought I might have been british, if that counts.
Me, no I am as white as you get. My oldest son they have, he is half Indian. He has been mistaken for Mexican.
It pisses me off every time!
My mother went to Greece on holiday. All the little street vendor kids kept coming up to her and addressing her in Italian until she said she was American. Our heritage is Irish/German. She thought it was hysterical.
It's weird, I've been asked if I'm French a couple of times. I don't know what that's all about.
Then of course there's the usual if I'm on holiday. English...Irish...German.
Yes and no not at all upset.
No.But if i did i wouldn't get upset.
Yes,It does,I am often mistaken for being Swedish!!!
Not another ethncitiy..but another culture perhaps..Because I am blond and blue-eyed and worked handling KLM airlines (amongst many others)..people would automatically start off a complicated conversation in Dutch with me. I can only swear in Dutch (LOL.)
It doesn't get any whiter than Finnish/Irish, which I am, but I tan quick in the summer and have dark hair. I've been mistaken for Latina, Greek, Italian, Lebanese, Hawaiian, and Native-American.
I have been mistaken for Hawaiian, Japanese ,Korean,Malaysian ,and so many more!! Doesn't upset me but no one ever guesses right!
Nationality, yes very often, no it does not bother me at all
A lot of people think I am Hispanic because I have dark hair and olive skin. I am Sicilian.
It never bothered me.
Some people have mentioned that I have certain features that remind them of several nationalities or ethnicities. No, it didn't bother me.
Yes, people mistake me for 2 other ethnicities:)
I'm white but when I go to India people start speaking to me in hindi, it doesn't bother me.
No, I don't look anything other than white.
i don't limit myself or others, i have to many. +5
Jewish, Italian Greek no it doesn't bother me at all
When I was young people always thought I looked Asian. It never bothered me -- those people are pretty.
People mistaken me as Indian and they start speaking Hindi to me.
I haven't but my dad is frequently mistaken for Greek or Turkish (he's not though, just English).
lebanese, and no
I've been mistaken for an Italian, Spaniard, Greek and Turk. They get the shock of their lives when I sidle up to them kindly and talk flawless English.
The only think I hate is when I correct someone (that i am not Mexican I'm Cuban) and they prceed to tell me how it is the same thing.....OMG I am getting pissed just typing about it!!!
