What do you think of the idea of a goverment happiness Minister who is responsible for the happiness of the population?

Since each of us is responsible for his/her own happiness, I think it would be a waste of money. We already have government intruding on our private lives to a shameful degree. I'd rather have the money spent on education or something that some of us need help with..besides, with the track record of the current government they would put in some former lobbyist who didn't know his/her derriere from a hole in the ground, didn't know what happiness was or what it would take to achieve it, and probably had never had a happy day in his/her life...and would set about destroying any chance for it rather than helping to achieve it. :(
