these are the same nimrods that put mayo on frys, they are evil, pure evil.

It's not kosher to do so. Mayo is not for burgers but should be reserved for cold cut subs or pasta salad. I remember I ordered one in Canada once and I was astounded to see mayo on my burger: WTF, how dare they. Good thing I had a napkin available; how gross.

They chide you!!!!! Give me there names!!!! You can't have a burger WITHOUT mayo. Whopper with cheese, heavy mayo, heavy onion, cut in half. My secret to my 220 pounds! LOL
-
Because I can hear your arteries crying! :D
-
To each his/her own. I dig the mayo. I have a chum that gets pissed when someone whant's cheese on their burger!
-
People chide for that? Bring it on "people"! Now while I like a smidgen of mayo on my burger, the site of hordes of people in San Diego, California Costco squirting gobs of it on HOTDOGS nearly made me hurl. Isn't that ironic?
-
You know how it is some people think their way is the only way!!

Same reason former smokers ream out smokers. (May I never do that. I quit six months ago, my daughters still smoke, and they already know all the health risks. I don't want to nag.) People find something a good practice, or find something else harmful, and they think they're offering helpful advice to people who don't do things their way. I've also been scolded for putting mayo on my baked potato or in a salad. In moderation I don't think it's bad, but you can't eat any amount of fat in the presence of some people, without them thinking you're committing a mortal sin.

In Australia, it has not been traditionally used on hamburgers. Ours are big things filled with beef patties, lettuce, grated carrot, cooked onions, beetroot, sometimes a fried egg and ketchup/tomato sauce. (pineapple sometimes) We regard the mayo thing as american. Not that we won't eat it on a Maccas or something, but it isn't something we would do on an Aussie burger.

grease on grease///

I do it not because of the hamburger, But Mayo tastes good with lettuce and Tomato. No lettuce or tomoto then just Catsup.
-
I don't know? Some people are just opinionated about everything I suppose? Even mayo. I don't like it myself, but if the hubby wants mayo, thats what he gets! But I do cringe a little when he eats it. Mustard too... thats just nasty in my opinion. Which I am perfectly well aware is not the ONLY opinion so.
-
I've never understood that. Eveyone has different tastes! Sometimes I like ketchup on my burger, sometimes I like mayo. Same with my fries, too!
-
My step-dad always said "you ain't a cheeseburger eater if you don't put only MUSTARD on it"! I guess I wasn't a "cheeseburger eater", cause I always used both!
-
I like mayo on them.

It is silly to chide anyone for their personal food choices. I myself do not like mayo on a burger, but to each his own.
