I finally made it to the "Professor" rank. It took all of about 10 months for me haha. How long did it take you guys to get there?

It is interesting to see the rate of "progress" through the levels in some cases. There was a time when I used to discard all of my points regularly and start over (by asking the staff to reset them to 0). I called this operation "badgicide" -- to kill the badge. I think I did it 4 times, and I would say I hit the "professor" level within a week or two each time. When I got to level 25 or so I would do it again, I think that's the "Expert" level, but I really don't remember. So it took me about a year to become a "Sage", and now my rate of ascent is rather slow because I don't post nearly as much as I used to. But I've seen new users who've only been here a month whiz right past "Sage" and become "Maestro" it seems. A lot of that happens because they do a lot of moderating, of course. But someone who really focuses on producing lots of points and has lots of time on their hands can really peg the ascent meter!

Well, I have not quite reached Level 30 "Professor" yet. I am at level 28 right now, and have been on AB since August 5th...so just over 3 months. Hopefully I can reach "Professor" before December 5th...which would make it 4 months.

I got to level thirty in maybe...a month and a half, I guess. And that's virtually all answer points, which seem to be the least likely to bring in lots of points. I very rarely ask questions or moderate, but I answer like crazy. That's just how cool I am.

Over 2 years, but many of them were years when the number of members was low and not many people were giving ratings. Also for much of that time, ratings weren't in points but in letter grades, based on whether your answer was a. useful; b. somewhat useful; or c. not useful. I was at level 29 since the spring, when the levels were restructured and I have moved up a couple of levels in the last couple of weeks.
