Personally, when the mod points are abolished. As a newcomer, it's the only way for me to catch up with those at the upper levels. Now, I can give ratings of + 6 and + 5. God forbid that those rating powers are left in the hands of a select few, especially those who have been with AB for a long time. The mod points actually level the playing field. Have you noticed that the AB environment is hostile to newbies?

When other members start telling you how you should be spending your time on Answerbag. Why should anybody else care how AB'ers are spending their own valuable time contributing to this site? Moderation is a valuable contribution to AB. Does it really matter if somebody wants to climb the ladder by asking questions, or answering questions, or even keeping this site clean, organized, and family friendly through justified moderation? I don't think so.
