Then that "most popular answer category in the weekly top list" would be filled with congratulatory answers. IMHO, Kev, quality is still the name of the game here on AB. Yahoo Answers is definitely, unabashedly quantity.

I like your idea Kevin. I have been lucky enough to get many points for some of my answers and I'm sure I would enjoy other people's answers also.

Because we already have a most answered questions and a most points for a questions one and you can even check for All Time, too. How else are we going to judge good quality questions if it's not by how many points they get? And what purpose would most popular category make? It could easily be OTB each and every week since it gets the most questions put into it. That doesn't make for quality either.

In the "Most inquisitive" leaderboard, people are ranked according to the number of question they asked. It is actually a good achievement to have been asking many questions. If the questions are good, it is even better. So one could make that ranking according to the points that the question gets. However, we have already a lot of rankings according to points. And then there is this problem with all those conversational questions which already become a lot of points, because they are just "popular". Those Leaderboards have just been created for a few month. A "most popular answer" could also be created, it is an interesting idea. The point is that in those Leaderboards, people are shown, who have achieved something particular, and there are also those two question Leaderboards: - Most popular questions - Questions with most answers The purpose of the question leaderboards is also to point out at interesting questions, so that some people can also answer them. Pointing at interesting answers would not have such an "active" effect...
