Why is it that there seems to be a concentrated effort to remove any competition from schools these days? (some schools even eliminate grades!) Do you believe this hurts the students?

Because some idiots in the school boards have taken a couple of classes in child psych and think that thay are now shrinks that understand the psyche of kids. Also because some parents are idiot wimps and are trying to raise their kids in their like. They think that kids can't handle someone beating them at something and don't realize the disservice that they are doing to these kids. They are taking away a very important lesson from the "real world." Apparently some parents and adminstrators fail to realize that these kids do grow up and will have to enter this dreaded place eventually, and in the "real world" there WILL always be competition, and there will always be someone better than you.....
