Another Star Trek movie comes out in 2008. Are they reaching a bit too far with this one?

When I recently watched earlier episodes, I wondered how they got as popular as they did. Sometimes the acting is atrocious, as with other technical aspects of production. I enjoy each one as it comes out, however, but they get undeserved attention for "quality" that is easily overstated. It's the story line and the special effects and creativity that goes into them that keeps me watching. Bottom line: Spielberg can keep making episodes forever and I will always be at the head of the line to see them.

If done well, this will reboot the entire franchise the way they've managed to reboot Battlestar Galactica. If done badly, I fear it may kill Trek as we know it, leaving only the fans to keep it alive...

I think they will do the series justice if they ties in the character relationships properly.

I also think that if this movie comes out and its good that it will inspire even more star trek to happen maybe even another series.
