  • Unless you are an expert it’s almost impossible to tell the difference. Levi has a perfect cut but will also fade faster than the fakes. By the time you realise the fading issue it's too late.   • This is no longer a major problem in the United States with respect to new Levi's jeans. Counterfeiting was a problem in Japan and Europe, particularly behind the Iron curtain before the fall of the Berlin Wall, when Levi's products were unobtainable, but is no longer pertains to these markets either. However, since premium prices are now demanded for certain vintage Levi's products, such as 501 model jeans from the 1940's, counterfeiting may be more of a problem with respect to these products. Determining the authenticity of the vintage Levi's products is job for an expert, and information is quite scant with regard to the general public.
  • Check the back of the front button - it should have the model no of the Levis stamped on it!
