Probably not but you might have strep throat or tonsillitis both of which are extremely contagious and strep is very dangerous. Get to a doctor as soon as you can. They are both easily treated and you'd feel better within a few days after treatment.

It depends on how long you have been experiencing these symptoms. A minor sore throat could be part of a normal cold or fle and will likely pass on it's own within a few days. If the sore throat persists for more than 2-3 days or gets worse then you should go see a doctor and get tested for strep. Tonsilitis is usually characterized by chronic sore throats and repeated infections. Your doctor will only remove your tonsils if you have multiple incidents of sore throat and tonsil infections.
