  • In the US, we have "American Cheese", which is like a mild milky cheddar. Its on most cheeseburgers.
  • I believe they have chedder and Cheshire cheeses in Australia but apparently it's very expensive, I doubt it's the most common.
  • i'm in the states and i love cheddar cheese. also pepper jack is pretty popular (and yummy). personally, i do love havarti, but that's more of a specialty cheese here. we do have american cheese, which is popular on burgers and sandwiches...i think it's pretty gross.
  • We always have cheddar in our fridge. It is our most used cheese. It's great on it's own, with crackers, in dishes, grated on top, in Mexican food. I never use American Cheese. It isn't really cheese, it's processed cheese, one step up from cheese food, like Cheez Whiz.
  • My favorite is cheddar, but I love almost any cheese - hard or soft. I do not like American cheese though.
  • We eat a lot of cheddar cheese, it is the main basic cheese. There is also processed cheese (a la Kraft blocks and slices). Many people love cheese and there is a wide variety of cheeses that Aussie's love (soft, hard, aged, blue, you name it, its here). The only cheese we don't have in Australia is cheese imported from France that has been made with un-pastuerised milk (against quarantine rules).
