That I was being divorced and had no idea that the relationship was in trouble.

I think the horror of 9/11 ranks right up there. I knew that there would be a lot of knee-jerk reaction, that hatred of Islam would rage out of control, that our rights would be sacrificed on the false altar of "safety", that fingers would point and blame be assigned and wars would result. I knew that the families, friends and colleagues of thousands of incinerated people would suffer immeasurably and that opportunists would come out of the sewer to advance their own ambitions, playing on the chaos and emotional upheaval. There was nothing positive I could take away. And yet, here we are. We live, we love, we mourn, we go on.
