Well, that depends Is it clogged or stuck? If it's stuck, you can use the hex key that usually comes with a garbage disposal by inserting one end into the little indentation on the nut (or whatever it is) at the bottom of the external housing. Turn it one way or the other and see if you can jostle whatever it is loose. Or it last move the impeller blades away from it so you can remove it. In the absence of a hex key you can try two more things. One is to reach inside and feel if you whatever is preventing rotation, see if you can pull it out. The other thing is to take a broomstick or sturdy wooden dowl and carefully put one end into the disposal against one of the blades and see if pushing the blade (again, could be one way or the other)loosens them enough to pluck the item out. Be careful not to break the broomstick (I once did :(). If it's clogged, I'd use a drain opener AFTER reading all instructions and cautions carefully, and choosing an appropriate product, AND protecting my eyes, hands and any surfaces that might not appreciate the chemical ferocity of such preparations. You're sure it's clogged or stuck? Is it possible its little mini breaker tripped?

You know you have to hold that little button in for several seconds until it resets, yes? Pathia's advice is rule number one too. :)

there is a little reset button that you have to push...also if it is really stuck...some brands (mine does) have a little place underneath (outside) where you can put a device to turn the blades backwards...mine is a hexagonal shaped opening about 1/4 inch wide....you can buy the tool from "The Home Depot" for about $1.50....Hope this helps. Or just right down the name and number of your model and call the home depot and ask if it can be done this way..they should know.

There's this new invention called a plunger...

Pour some Baking Soda around and down the drain, then pour vinegar into the sink -- the reaction between the soda and vinegar will clear certain kinds of clogs.
