Very good question. I can be fairly certain I have conciousness. Cogito ergo sum. But then again I may be a simulated conciousness. And I have no idea about anyone else as I cannot directly interact with another mind. Some would argue that conciousness is produced entirely by biological functions within the brain and once you have the brain figured out you will know what conciousness is.

Have you heard the saying "that which man can conceive, he can achieve?" If one believes in the possibility of many universes..or especially believes in the possibility of many dimensions, of which man is only able to "know" three due to the limitations of his/her senses, then of course maybe in the 8th dimension of our world such concepts could be measured with extraordinarily fine tools, the existence of which we are unaware living in our puny three-dimensional world. :)
