  • I use ZoneAlarm. It's free, it's easy to configure, and it works. www.zonealarm.com
  • I would change to a Mac for viruses are almost non existent. No matter what firewall you get it will quickly be obsolete and viruses will come back.It takes such a long long time to hack a Mac and the built in protection is too much trouble.Pay the extra and get a good computer. That is my advice.
  • Any just update regularly. Zonealarm is pretty good. I personally loath Norton with a passion. And yes whilst Mac has less viruses (around 500 I think) than PC it should be pointed out that viruses writers tend to go for PCs because well.... There are more of them. Far quicker propogation than Mac viruses and a far bigger impact. Not saying that windows is as secure as Mac OS variations (it isn't) but that if Mac started to achieve similar market penetration to windows you would see more viruses. There are very few viruses floating around for Kickstart (the old Amiga OS) as what would eb the point? Similar with the Mac/PC issue. If you want to cause havoc attack the 90odd% of the worlds systems :)
  • Is there something the built in Windows firewall doesn't provide for you?
  • Install OpenBSD and use PF. Can't go wrong :)
