I would think unrequited love is a regret.

I think they amount to the same in the end. How much regret is determined by why the love is unrequited.

To me I would rather experience regret. Unrequited love is physically painful.

Definitely regret. I would rather take the risk for love and not have my feelings returned than to never take the risk at all and always wonder what might have been
