  • Most of my friends having been paying their school loans back for years..and some have screwed that up. way I just have a HS diploma and I make over 190K, I've had 3 different jobs since I was 21.the truth is I lied about my college background and no one has ever checked it out. current company I work for (marketing btw) never checked it out or asked me about my “degree”. Last year after I finished first in sales in our office (the 5th year in a row) I came clean with my boss.he just laughed and said he didn't give a damn.just show me the MONEY-BABY is all he said. I've recieved numerous offers from competiors through my career but I've turned them down.even when it's been more money but they want me to move my family.my wife doesn't want to move. Well.there's my confession, I used to worry that I'd be discovered but I could care less now and I thank God I didn't waste 100K plus on a worthless piece of paper and saddled with huge college loans paying the salaries of some pin-heads who don't have a clue to the real world Cheap.I noticed you didn't say how much you made last year! LOL
  • Umm.. Story? Well I dont have my degree yet but I have heard both sides how it has helped and did nothing as well. - [Edit] Well after reading your story. I guess it depends which field you go in to. I know with me and my field of computers it helps to have credentials but in the end. I have had quite a few people comment telling me they would look more for someone like me instead of someone with a degree. Because I enjoy my field and am self motivated to learn. Hope that helps a little more.
  • The bad thing is you missed so many things in between. College is a growing lesson, not just books and studies. I'm glad you're doing so well. Wish I made that kind of money.
  • If you see nothing wrong with profiting by lying, than you might consider this: Profit without honor is not worth the price.
  • it's not really about the degree(in which it is) it's the fact that your behind the curve...if someone with a degree comes along and wants your job....then if you make one mistake...it's over....i would recommend taking some night classes and get the degree....and you will have a better chance of not losing your job to a college graduate...cause good luck can't last forever.....everyone has a slum or two in their life...it's better to be safe than sorry....plus marketing isn't a hard degree to obtain.....
  • Congradulations on your success. Life is not defined by how much money you make alone. It is a compilation of your experiences. For some, college is much more than purely academics. Its a time to shape your abilities and develope habits that will last a lifetime. To learn how to learn. To develope friendships and mentors, learn responsibility and commitment. to expand your mind and push yourself to accomplish your goals. All things that last way beyond your financial obligations to the institution that provided you that experience. Oh, and did I mention the parties!!!!!!!
