  • I know I'm taking longer breaks , I can't stand the bullying
  • If I don't want to go back in that padded room, I'm going to be right here for as long as I'm able to.
  • I don't think that I have been around long enough to be a respected member of AB..but it saddens me that some people are leaving...I'm not.
  • The only reason I haven't considered leaving is because I'll be damned if I'm gonna let a bunch of juvenille, ridiculous arguing ruin something that has brought a great deal of joy into my life.
  • No I'm not. I still enjoy my visits and have found ways to avoid most of the negativity by just doing my own thing here and rummaging through the categories. I don't find arguments and bullying much in Home and Garden or Food and Dining. I don't see it in Places or Health and Fitness. If I go back far enough, I don't even see it in OTB. So I'm staying because I am still having a very good time here, helping people, learning, talking with members, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
  • I have seriously considered it and for now decided against leaving. I did leave once and after a few days I missed it, more to the point I missed my friends here. I don't think I could walk away from them any more than I would walk away from my friends in the regular world. I have gotten caught up in some drama, mostly related to political debate and been ganged up on by a vicious group who disagree with me and seem to not think I have a right to my opinion but I am not going to let them drive me away. 99% of what I experience here is wonderful. I have learned a lot about people and come to be far more understanding of those different than me. My mind has been changed regarding some very important social issues. But most of all I have laughed with and enjoyed the thoughts and company of so many wonderful people I do not think I can leave. Those who detest me are just going to have to get used to the idea that I am here. They can spew their hatred all they like, I'm not going anywhere.
  • No, I'm not. Why would I? Okay, there are nasties here and nasties there. So what? I would not let a few nasties spoil the fun for me. For every one bad member, there are more than ten who are good. As to the "a lot of respected members leaving AB," it's their choice. AB is bigger than any of its most respected members. It's arrogant for anyone to think that the loss of one respected member is a big thing. In real life, we have lost family members and friends. And yet, we moved on.
  • No I am not considering leaving...simply because I haven't really encountered the kind of negativity that other people are talking about. If I do, I know where the unsubscribe to comments button is...
  • I don't know everyone's reasons for leaving. I have thought about taking long breaks many times. There are times when it seems like there is too much negativity and also bad questions. I also have felt a little burned out here. And I do have a busy personal life. Unlike some Abers, I don't really have any time to spend here when I'm at work.
  • No im not, if i dont like whats going on or im bored then i take a break for a day or two and come back. The good thing about a computer is, its easy to switch it off!!
  • No, as I've never been respected.
  • I can see why people get tired of it. I have not been here long but have thought about leaving already. Some don't respect quality answers and questions and downrate them simply because they don't agree with the topic or opinion. That is rather pinheaded and frustrating. As a result I have contemplated leaving as well.
  • There is a long history of people leaving, and there are often a range of reasons motivating that move. For me AB has lost some of its appeal - but I don't plan on leaving just yet.
  • I leave everyday only to come back, sometimes within the same day.
  • AB is not the same AB I met when I joined. I took a break once, and I came back to an even worst atmosphere. But, the great thing about here is, I can come and go as I well please. I came across posts speaking about making peace; none wants to go the extra step and most wants the last word. “Manners make-et man”, how many execute such admirable quality? One could actually name them off the top of their head, they are so few. The less knowledgeable and less educated makes the most trouble; if respect and tolerance should be more exhibited, the community here would well worth the effort, and time most of us spend on here.
  • I'm not really a respected member, only been here a short while anyways. I guess the only reason i would leave is if i no longer had anything left to say; something that won't transpire anytime soon.
  • What must one do to be considered a respected member? I've considered leaving more than once and have left more than once. However, I seem to always end up back here for some reason or other.
