  • There is no set answer -- it will vary from queen to queen depending on a number of factors ranging from genetics to health and environment. On average, a kitten will enter her first heat, and thus qualify as a queen, somewhere between her sixth and eight month. She will exhibit heat behaviour* from five to ten days, with breaks from three days to three weeks in between. This cycle will be more intense in the spring and summer than at any other time of year, but cats have, like hominins, moved toward year round breeding, and some show no seasonality at all. *Heat behaviour includes lowering her front end and elevating her behind, with the tail switched off to the side, rolling on the ground, marking -- even spraying -- her territory for males to detect, and vocalisations that range from murmurs to yowls. It is strongly recommended that you have your female spayed as soon as possible after her sixth month. The world has quite enough kittens already, and less than half will find good homes. And, even if your cat never goes outside, so the chance of kittens is minimal, it will save you, and your bewildered little girl, a lot of grief!
  • It varies with the cat, but generally my kitty stops after about 2 weeks. If you want a good way to make em stop yowling, get up and try to get them to play. Especially if its a young cat, if you get their mind on playing for a few hours and tire them out, they'll fall asleep.
  • My experience is 5 to 7 days. Right now my girl is in heat and has been for a few days and she is making me nuts day and night. The only time she is quiet is when she sleeps. I must say now she does yowl in a very quiet way so it really isn't too bad but after a while it get to you.
  • A cat that is not spayed...will have a heat, but then, if she is not successfully bred...she will continue to go back into heat...over and over with not long between each cycle... You may want to get her spayed and save her and your own ears the trouble and noise!
  • Until you can't take their yowling anymore and you drown them in the bathtub.
  • About 10 mins, then they find a nice place in the shade too cool down
  • Cat's usually go into heat for 2 to 3 days but cat's never really go out of heat all the way untill they are spayed. MY cat was just fixed about 3 months ago because she never stop being a pain in the butt getting her fixed when I when I could was the best thing I did. Remember cats spray on thing also for the male cats so she could be also. And My cat has never stepped outside unless we where going to the vets but you will see after a little while you will want to do the same. I didn't at first but then again she doesen't go outside I figured she isn't going to get pregnet get outside or not at the end off each day I wanted to throw her outside so she would shut up.
  • my cat murmers, walks around in circles, wants you to rub her tail etc. She loves when the puppy attacks her, she gets sexualality out of the whole deal, and the pupy gets to rumble and play. There is no real answer as to HOW long cats stay in heat. It's nature such as women and periods. Sometimes we seem to last weeks, and others a few days. Same for female cats.
  • Apparently this is determined by the cats environment (hours of daylight the cat recieves, different in both hemispheres and seasons) as well as by the breed of cat, but they usually have heat cycles every 9 to 13 days within 6 month periods of being in heat.
  • My cat was in heat for 6 weeks. Then the next time around it was for 1 week.Theres no real answer.
  • It varies, and I'm not sure the right amount of time but my kitten Lily's lasted a month. I wouldn't worry if your's is shorter or longer I think it depends, but if you don't already know I would make sure you don't let it out of the house during and for about a week after or else she may dissapear off and come back pregnant and you have to be careful with kittens.
  • Until I pull the trigger.
  • Till it ends
  • Ask my pitbull ! Popsicles !
  • My cat is in heat for the first time. Thankfully she does not make that loud eerie sound. Instead she makes a low pigeon sound, like a coo. She just wants to be touched. As soon as you touch her she lays down.
  • Until you take them to the vets.
