I am looking for a lightweight digital camcorder/camera combo that is fairly weather proof, small, and takes decent video w/sound and pictures and doesn't cost more than $500. Does anyone have any suggestions, please?

Right now, what I have found is the Canon TX-1 and the Sanyo Xacti VPC-E1 but the reviews are very mixed on the picture qualities and I just don't know if I can find a decent combo. I like the fact that they use SD memory cards. I just don't know.
