8-odd years ago, my wife just had to run out and get a home pregancy testing kit, so we went to Target. We're standing there in line with this lone item on the belt, waiiiiiiiiiiiiiting for the checker to get thru the stuff of the person ahead of us, and a couple we knew from church steps in line behind us. We acted innocent, but after our daughter was born the woman told my wife they raised their eyebrows over it in the store, and burst out laughing in their car.

Not exactly a friend...but it's a good story anyway. Here in Southern California, it is quite common to run into actors and celebrities in everyday situations (e.g. a few years ago, I saw Robert Picardo (the "Doctor" on Star Trek: Voyager) at a burger joint in West Hollywood). Anyway...back in the early 1980s, my father and I were shopping at Fedco (a precursor to Costco-type warehouse stores) and found ourselves in the checkout line behind actress Stepfanie Kramer... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0469671/ Among the items in her basket was a rather large box of condoms....;-D....
