  • Because they ignored it and ran it into the ground like so many other Yahoo offerings. They didn't put much time or promotion into it, so there was NO way it could compete with eBay. It's the story of Yahoo's life, seems to me. They have a great idea and then put no effort behind it. They wait and see what seems to bring profit with no effort, close the less profitable sites, and then ignore the profitable endeavor. I've never in my life seen a company that is so successful while it is so poorly run.
