Yes, I did know that. Often I go back in the "archives" and try to answer some of them. Once I answered one that was three years old. I'd like to see every question asked get an answer eventually, as that is the point of this site afterall.
-
Points for finding that out. I do go in and try to answer some but I'm usually overwhelmed and there are a bunch of pill and car questions that I just can't answer.
-
Yes, I suggest an adopt a page of questions-thon. Lets all adopt a page!
-
I go back some times and try to answer as many as I can!
-
yes...I try to answer my questions from there and revive some of them....it is sometimes because they were asked at the wrong time--not the right people to answer, slow time, where no one was on, fast time where there was a better question to answer, etc. I am in the No Answer Left Behind Club though... http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/96498

We need an adopt a question program.

I have been answering some of them. For many of them, I found out quite fast the reason they had not been answered. I could not answer them either. But I also found some question which had been "answered" but I am sure the asker was not very happy about those answers, such as: - "I have no idea" - "Do you have another question of the same kind?" - "let me rate... you are bored?" I did not take any real examples, but you get the idea. And consider that those answers do not appear in the unanswered questions anymore.

Yes, I did know that and I go there often to try to answer them. They are not forgotten by all. I think quite a few people like to go and check them out. But most of the questions are asking for specific answers and unless someone who really knows the answer is on AB AND goes check them out, they aren't going to get answered. If you think you have a certain knowledge about things, try going to that category and look at just the unanswered questions and help those people out.
-
Well, probably at least one of those pages contains some of my unanswered questions.
-
Probably 10 of those pages are mine too :(
-
Yes, I try to answer some when AB is dead. But most are on cars or questions that are nonsense but are not flagged as such (flags get rejected for some reason).
-
That is a shame, I did have a look at the first few... I always look for unanswered questions. I dont think the first few pages should even be here, yes, they are questions, but...Maybe there should be a system of figuring out how to delete a question that nobody cares to answer for years...weeks or months is one thing, but, repetitiveness, and robot like qualities have been detected by my sensors...
-
Right now there are 3,441 pages of unanswered questions. I have tried to answer some, but of course I can't keep up with the pace here. Maybe each user should answer three unanswered questions a day, to help reduce the swelling figure of unanswered questions.

My counter shows over three thousand pages. The first few hundred are "What is origin of the Japanese surname (whatever)" or "what is the origin of the Russian surmane (whatever)". Don't be so quick to assume they are forgotten.
