the ultimate bacon is the thick cut country style w/the rind still on it...when you buy it the butcher puts a slab on the slicer and asks"how thick do you want it sliced?" then as you fry it in a skillet(not in the microwave)the smell literally makes your mouth water...

Maybe the old style with the thick natural rind, thick sliced and really crispy, but with fried apples and a sprinkling of sugar over all. Oh! One of my favorite breakfasts from my childhood. My husband and I cook it often in the wintertime, especially if we can find some homestyle thick bacon.
