I have my dog trained. I tell him to wait, or stay, pending on the comprehension of the day, secure the area, then welcome him outside and put a leash on him. Its pretty simple. Your the master, and he is a dog. Dont let him walk you.

The dogs always wait unless I tell them to go first. Sometimes it's a pain, my one dane is so damn polite, and he doesn't like to go ahead of me even if I tell him to, and he'll go so far and stop to wait for me to pass!

Usually I do, she'll wait for me to go. If the kids are outside, and its time to come in, she kindof herds them up for me. LOL, so she usually the last one in, too.
