They're doing lots and lots of growing. And learning. They just look like they're doing nothing. But yeah, someone else might have a better answer.

They are storing it all up. When they are about 2 y/o they will begin to let it all out.

They do so much we can't see. THey are growing and processing. All little ones sleep a lot. We never require so much down time than when we're growing and making our brain, nerves, bodies.

Sleep doesn't use up kilojoules. Babies need to put on weight.. Being active and awake stops them doing that. Remember, their stomachs are tiny. They can only take in so much, then they need to process it. SLeep helps them do that. As their stomachs grow, they sleep less, because they can process more and more efficiently.

LOL AWWW CUTE QUESTION....WELL HUN, IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT, WHAT DID A BABY DUE IN THE TUMMY...KICK HIS MAMAS TUMMY EVERY NOW AND THEN AND THATS LITERALLY IT.....NOW THAT THEY ARE HERE, THEY HAVE TO BREATH ON THERE OWN WHICH BELIEVE IT OR NOT IS SOME WORK FOR SOMEONE THAT NEVER HAD TO BEFORE.... THEY PAY ATTENTION TO WHATS GOING ON AROUND THEM, ALSO EXAUSTING, THEY SCREAM AND CRY WHICH MAKES THEM TIRED, CRY EVERYTIME THERE HUNGRY, DIRTY, TIRED, GOT A BELLY ACHE, IF I CRIED THAT MUCH ID BE TIRED TOO! YEP SO IT DONT LOOK LIKE THEY DO MUCH BUT THERE LITTLE BODIES ARE ADJUSTING TO OUR WORLD WHICH IS TOUGH WORK FOR EM!
