It is a symbol of freedom and hope. However it has been tainted in recent years, owing to the foreign policy of the current administration. Rogues often dress up in the flag of their nation and then accuse dissenters of unpatriotic views. The best exponent of patriotism is he that stands up for the weak, the poor and dispossessed of a society and fights injustice wherever they meet it. A flag on its own does not mean a lot, as t is just a piece of cloth after all, but the ideals of what it represents is always worth fighting for. May your god bless the people (if not the political classes) of the USA.

I see a symbol that has changed quite a bit from it's inception.I think of the pledge of allegiance I would recite every day in school and recall the phrase "With Liberty and Justice for all". It sure sounds noble, but it is not reality. We are a confused and divided Nation.

Funny comment: Ha! I suspected you had liberal democratic leanings all along, Emma!!! Now we have proof! Serious comment: I'd ask you why you display the symbol of a movement that murdered 60-100 million people in the last century, but you've already blown off such questions. Why not pair it with the Nazi Germany flag?
