I typically just say "You know what, I'm not going to argue with you" and walk away. Simple and effective.
-
If I feel nothing good can come out of such argument I say something like: "Please I don't want to be dragged into this, you have your opinion, I have mine." even more so when I feel they might expect me to pick sides.
-
put my hands up and say fine or whatever and walk off. my cousin and sister are always trying to argue with me, i just go hide until they leave.
-
With much difficulty.
-
Just tell them how you feel and hope they respect you enough to keep you out of it.
-
Use logic, and cut out emotion. It works every time.
-
Pretend I am hard of hearing.. ignore it. Leave the area.
-
If they want me to choose a side I usually say "I'm staying out of it, it's all you"...
-
I am doing that very thing now. I was trolled by leftist assholes unmercifully earlier and instead of my former response of trying to strike back I am going by my resolution to not do so. I instead went straight to Q&A's by friends. That is why I am answering this. I feel so much better. Tell that old codger I said hello please. I love you both.

Walk away
-
Just leave. Why do you owe them an explanation?
-
I always say, "Your BS is killing my high"
-
Recall my mother's saying: "Blessed is the peacemaker, for he shall get socked." And DON'T take sides. Leave, if I have to.
-
Just walk away.
-
Tell them your sorry that they are going through that and listen and let them get it out but don't give an opinion one way or the other. If they ask for one tell them you aren't involved so you have no opinion but you will always be there as a sounding board.
-
It takes at least two to have an argument. Once I establish that it is an argument I state that I refuse to argue and I leave. If I am in a situation where I cannot physically leave, I put them on cold ignore. I will debate forever because I love debate. However, I refuse to argue.
-
I usually say, "This doesn't concern me."
