I believe Georgias crosswalk law, is the same as the rest of the united states. normally, a pedestrian has the right of way, except in two circumstances. l. in a crosswalk, a pedestrian may cross the street only on a red light to oncoming traffic or by visual or audible sound, alerting the pedestrian that they have a green walk sign, 2. on the open road, a pedestrian, attempting to cross the road, must yield to oncoming traffic. in other words, vehicles on the freeway do not have to stop for pedestrians. daily, people violate the crosswalk law. its a great temptation to cross the street, if no traffic is in sight, against a red don't walk sign. the pedestrian is in violation.
