  • I never ask people if they are pregnant as to avoid unpleasant moments like that. That is so embarrassing.
  • You only make that mistake once...LMAO
  • I wont do that. I try to steer the conversation in to ways to get them to reveal it themselves.
  • Nope. I completely steer away from that question. Even if I'm sure a person's pregnant, I still won't ask because I'm afraid of the potential embarassment if they're not.
  • I once asked a friend about a friend, and he told her. What an embarrassment for both she and me. And I no longer confide in that friend.
  • No, but I asked my friend Darrell if he had gone on a Ding-Dong binge over the weekend, only to find out it was his 50 lbs. heavier twin brother, Duwayne, whom I had never met.......that was awkward;)
  • Yes. And she wasn't. And I swore the only time I will ever ask THAT question again is if she's lying spreadeagled in a delivery room at the local hospital!
  • No. When my son was 6 months old, someone came up to me and asked "When are you gonna have that baby?" If we hadn't been at his father's funeral, I'd have socked in the throat.
  • Happens to me all the time - I've been about 5 months pregnant for over a year now.... <sigh>
  • Someone asked me if I was pregnant once. I was thin at the time, but I was wearing a big flannel shirt and was leaning over and I guess the way the shirt hung, it looked like I had a huge belly. Boy, that lady was so embarassed! I wasn't upset because it was all the shirt, but if it was my weight, I would've been tramatized! lol So, to this day, I will never ask anyone about being pregnant, even if it's totally obvious that's what it is, just in case!
  • Umm...I was the askee. Due to that experience, I will never make that mistake.
  • no way! i was at disneyland once and the attendant told a woman that was ahead of me that she couldn't ride since she was pregnant. she shouted "i am not pregnant!" i was thinking *oh god...if that was me i would have just laughed nervously and said "uhh...okay". and then gone home and tore my stomach out.* it was then i decided that until someone tells me they are pregnant, my mouth stays zipped on that subject.
  • Yeah I learned that lesson a long time ago.....Just to throw this in, whenever someone asked me if I was pregnant (when I was like 9 months) I would say no, what gave you that idea? It was funny to watch them quickly apologize. I even painted my stomach as a pumpkin on Halloween so I could flash them and say no I'm pumpkin smuggling. It's fun to mess with peoples minds!
  • No but it's something that I would find extrememly awkward! How do you backpeddle out of that one?!:)
  • Yes, that happened to me and i was embarassed afterwards!!!
  • No way ! I've stuck my big old foot right in my mouth a few times for sure, but, I've never done that one.
  • Yes, TWICE, lol. It will Not happen again.
  • ONly ONce.... Ever.. Ever. She said... "NO.. I have a stomache tumor!"... I don't even say congratulations when I see a big belly under a "baby on board" tshirt... Show me a head emerging, I am still only half convinced.
  • No, But i'll hate to be in that position!!
  • No, thankfully I have not done that yet:)
  • Yes and i felt so bad. It's because she was wearing tight clothes that made her maybe look 5 months pregnant. and she wasnt even pregnant! after that she didnt wear any tight clothes but i still felt bad
  • No but my hubby has. I learned from Chris Rock that you do not ask when they are due unless you see a baby coming out. I just don't say anything because I would be mortified!!!
  • yes i have asked.. funny thing is i noticed their are certain type of women and girls that would go the extreme for attention..
  • Someone asked my mum when she was due... She wasn't pregnant. lol
  • Yes, I asked someone when she was due and she told me she had the baby two weeks ago. (Foot in mouth).
  • No, I haven't. I've known too many women that this has happened to (including my s/o recently) who were not pregnant. And it's usually embarrassing for the asker as well as the one who is asked! I never say anything to a woman I suspect is pregnant until she confirms it herself!
  • I saw it happen to my co-worker...she put her hand over her stomach because she was starving and a customer said CONGRATULATIONS!! How far along are you?? aaaaand she just smiled one of those, I'm really trying to hide my frown...kinda smiles...and the customer KNEW, he had screwed up.
  • I don't ask for the reason of screwing up. I have had this happen to me. I had stomach problems for a while and my stomach would protrude just a little and when i was a cashier a trucker came up and gave me a little teddy bear and said give this to the little one when he/she is born. I told him i was not pregnant. GET THIS, he argued. I was fine with it at first untill he started arguing with me that i was pregnant.
  • I'm afraid to ask that question because they might answer: "Yes and it's all your fault!"
  • Oh, man thats is awkward... I ran into a girl from High school and totally asked her, she was like its just baby wieght from her daughter, but her daughter was like 5??? But being a mom myself, I was like oh yeah. Felt like a jack ass.
  • I made that mistake once, I will never do it again.
