I'm not 100% sure as to the pharmacology of MDMA, but serotonin is linked to the sensory systems as well as the emotional (and dopamine) systems. You're eyes dialate because of the serotonin :) But I'm not to sure as to exactly how it works because I don't know much about amphetamines... I'm more of a tryptamine kinda guy.
